ENROUTE SOUTH KOREA: HERE I GOT YOU ALMOST COVERED.

This piece of writing is mostly about the mode of transportation to reach South Korea and the commute system inside the country, being one of the most developed countries in the world it has evolved source of the transportation system.

Arrival by Air

Korea is connected by air to every major capital in the world, either through direct flights or by connecting flights from major international airports. Almost all major international airlines maintain regular service, with hundreds of flights coming in and out of Korea on weekly basis. South Korea has eight international airports, Incheon international airport which was opened in March 2021and Gimpu for Seoul, Gimhae for Busan, Jeju, Cheonju, Degu, Yangyang, and Muan.

Incheon airport: Airport buses and city buses leave from various points in Seoul every 15-30 minutes from 4:30 am to 10:30 pm and are less expensive alternatives to the limousine bus line which connects Incheon International Airport with some major hotels in Seoul.

Domestic Flight: The Most domestic destination is within an hour’s flight from the main capital Seoul. Located between the western part of Seoul and the Incheon International airport, Gimpo airport is primarily used for domestic travel and a short flight to China and Japan. Korean Air and Asiana airlines are domestic handles within the country.

Railway Service

The Korea Railroad (KORAIL) operates three types of trains high-speed (KTX), express Saemeul, and local (Mugunghwa) along an extensive nationwide rail network. The KTX train link Seoul with Daejon, East Daegu, Busan, Gwangju and Mokpo. Most popular destinations in the nation can be reached through a direct line or a single transfer. The official website of Korea can be referred to for information about trains status and schedule.

Bus Services

Regular city and long-distance express bus networks connect almost all major cities in the country. Regular intercity buses are a cheaper way to travel around the country but they have stopovers in between. Long-distance express buses are non-stop to their destinations, having stoppages only on expressways for rest areas. Buses are of two types which connect major cities in the country, some companies also run late-night deluxe express buses as well, Seoul has three intercity bus terminals providing service to different parts of the country- the main express bus terminal or subway lines 3,7 or 9 and Nambu Bus terminal on Subway Line 3 in Gangnam and Dong Seoul. Bus terminal near Gangbyeon station on line 2. Busan express bus terminal is in its eastern downtown area.

Metro Service

The metro service is the most efficient and convenient way to travel. Due to metro trains, development is high where the metro train services exist and they provide fast, reliable, safe, and comfortable journeys. The Seoul metro links all major neighbouring cities. Fares vary according to destination, the basic fare is 1,000 won. T- money is a debit transportation card that can be used for paying bus and metro train fares and can have free interchanges.

Taxi Services

There are two kinds of taxis -regular and deluxe. Fares are based on distance and time. The black deluxe taxis are more comfortable, provide better service, and therefore charge more money than regular taxis. Nearly all taxis are equipped with a third-party interpretation system and that can be accessed by cellphone of passengers and drivers who have difficulty communicating.

Ferry Service

One of the most exciting ways to experience Korea. Mainland to island ferry routes is Busan to Jejudo island, Mokpo to Hongdo, and Pohang to Ulleungdo. There are ships making runs between Busan and Yeosu with many in-between stops possible at ports along the south coast and Hallyeol Maritime National Park.

Well!! South Korea does come out as a diverse country with diverse or multiple sources of all transportation and this is a brief about the way to move around the country to experience its richness.
