Hello guys, I’m Suzane from Tunisia, and I’m a huge Korean food lover! Today, I’m super excited to share my experience of trying Korean food in Tunisia.
So, about two months ago, a new restaurant opened in the heart of Tunisia, and it’s called Korea Town. Naturally, I couldn’t wait to check it out. As soon as I heard about it, I knew I had to go! When I got there, the place was smaller than I expected, but don’t let that fool you. Even though it was packed with people, the vibe was amazing, and the décor really brought out a cozy, authentic feel. It honestly made me feel like I was transported straight to Korea for a moment!

Now, let’s talk about the food! The first dish I tried was crispy kimbap (튀김김밥, twigim gimbap). This was quite different from the regular kimbap I’m used to because the whole roll is fried, giving it a crunchy texture on the outside while keeping the inside soft and flavorful. The ingredients inside were classic – rice, carrots, spinach, pickled radish, and a bit of meat, all wrapped up in seaweed. The crispy exterior added a whole new level of deliciousness to the dish. It was so good that I could easily see myself going back just to have this again!
Next up was one of my absolute favorites rabokki (라볶이). For those who don’t know, rabokki is a combination of ddeokbokki (떡볶이), which are spicy, chewy rice cakes, and ramyeon (라면) noodles, all cooked together in a deliciously spicy, sweet sauce. The mix of textures between the chewy rice cakes and soft noodles was amazing! I’m a huge fan of bold flavors, and the sauce had the perfect balance of spice and sweetness. This dish is super filling and definitely one of my favorites from the meal!
Finally, I decided to try the fried chicken with sweet cream sauce (크림소스 치킨, keurim soseu chikin). Now, this was something I hadn’t had before, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise ! The chicken was crispy and tender, and the sweet cream sauce added a unique twist that balanced the savory flavor really well. It was something I didn’t expect to enjoy as much as I did, but it totally won me over.
All in all, my experience at Korea Town was fantastic, and I’m already planning my next visit! If you’re in Tunisia and craving Korean food, I highly recommend giving this place a try.
