From August 1st till august 6th the city of Cali it's been the heart of the World athletics championship, I have been attending the event as a volunteer and I want to share my experience with all of you.
As a volunteer that have been working with the communication team, I've been helping organise the results of each competition, making copies for the scheduled competition for that days , also translating interviews for other reports, and more administrative stuff. I've learn a lot and i was really happy to help people with any information they needed and give them the indications or any other stuff they seek for.
When i was not working i have the opportunity to enjoy the competitions, such as long jump, relays, hammer and javelin throw, high jump, races of different lengths with hurdles or obstacle, and many others. It was really amazing having the chance of watching the best athletes of the globe, the fastest teenagers in the world and also share some short talks with them, I ask some of them how they felt in the tournament, what they thought about all the championship and their point of view of their own performance; the Brazilian and Great Britain share with me that they were really happy to be here, competing and having all this experience, some of them commented that even if it wasn't their best performance they lived the moment with all of their joy and know they can improve themselves. I also had the opportunity to spend some time with the Japanese team and cheering with them their team when some of the competitors were running the 4x100 meters relay for the men's team, they won the bronze medal!!, also Colombia won the bronze medal for the 4x100 meters relay for women!! I was really excited my country made it this far :D, and it was a wonderful race,and I'm happy I could know a lot of wonderful and kind people, I'm full of joy for being part of and working in an event as this one.
