제가 옛날에 서울에서 해변으로 놀러가면 꼭 운전해야 갈 수 있다고 생각했는데 사실 그렇지 않더라. 대한민국의 발달한 공공 교통을 이용해도 영종도와 같은 예쁜 섬이 다닐 수 있는 겁니다! 영종도는 인천공항과 멀지 않은 섬이고, 거기 가려면 공항철도를 타서 공항에서 버스 223, 203으로 갈아타면 다양한 음식점, 카페, 등을 즐길 수 있어요.
I used to think I’d have to drive to travel to the nearest beach from Seoul, but that’s not true! With the accessibility of subway in South Korea, you’ll be able to travel your way to Yeongjong Island by subway or buses!
If you’re unaware of Yeongjong Island, it’s a reclaimed island near the Incheon Terminal Airport. Yeongjong Island is known for its seafood at an affordable price. During the summer, I made my way down to Yeongjong Island by the AREX and alighted in Incheon Terminal Airport. From there, there were buses 223 and 203 that brings you around the Airport Town.
저는 쉬러 가는 여행을 다녀왔기 때문에 일정은 칼국수 맛집, 카페, 해변만 있으니 영종도에서 더 많은 시간을 보내려고 하면 제가 제공하는 일정에 다른 데로 채워져도 좋습니다!
Since I was on a trip to relax and take a breather, my half-a-day itinerary is only filled with restaurant, cafes, and the beach. If you’ll like to spend more time there, feel free to add on to the itinerary!
제가 영종도에 도착하자마자, 향해해물칼국수에서 점심을 먹었습니다. 영종도에서 가장 유명한 식당 중에 하나라서 꼭 먹고 싶었습니다. 향해해물칼국수는 매장 2데가 있는데 제가 1호점에 가봤습니다. 30분 기다린 끝에 들어갔는데 신기해도 메뉴에는 해물칼국수(10,000원), 산낙지 (15,000원), 전복 (4개 16,000원) 3가지 밖에 없습니다. 그래서 제가 친구랑 3인분의 칼국수를 주문했죠. 해산물이 정말 싱싱했고 국물만 마셔도 행복한 만큼 맛있습니다. 그리고 양도 엄청 크고 저희 3명 반밖에 못 먹었어요. 그래서 적게 먹는 편이라면 칼국수 양이 줄이고 다른 메뉴를 시키는 것이 추천드려요!
Upon arrival, I first went to a Hwanghae Seafood Noodles for lunch. I knew I had to try it since it’s one of the most renowned restaurants in Yeongjong Island. They have 2 branches and I went to their first outlet. The place may look very unamusing, but I queued for approximately 30-minutes to get a table for 3! Upon entering, there’s only 3 items on the menu – the seafood noodles (10,000 KRW), octopus sashimi (15,000 KRW), and abalones (16,000 KRW for 4). In the end, my friends and I settled for 3 servings of the seafood noodles. The seafood was really fresh, and I could taste the sea from just devouring the soup. The serving was huge, and we could only finish half of what was served. I’ll recommend if you add on other sides and reduce the portion if you’re a light eater!
만족스러운 식사 후 저희 3명 소화를 시키려고 선녀바위 해변을 거닐었습니다. 그때 여름이라 해변에 텐트가 많이 깔려 있었습니다. 좀 붐볐음도 불구하고 해변 쪽에 사진을 찍을 만한 경치가 좋은 장소가 몇개 있었습니다!
To digest after a satisfying meal, we took a stroll by the Seonnyeo Rock Beach. Since my visit was in the summer, there were many tents laid across the beach and it was pretty crowded. Despite so, the beach did have some scenic spots where you may snap some photos!
산책도 하고, 사진도 많이 찍은 후에 후에 저희 카페에 가서 맛있는 디저트도 먹었어요. 카페오라 또한 카페도우도우 2데에 다녔습니다. 카페에서도 해변 경치가 보여서 아주 좋지만 메뉴는 생각보다 좀 비싼 편이였습니다.
Thereafter, me and my friends went to 2 famous cafes in the island. It’s Café Ora and Café Doudou. Café Doudou takes up wholly a 5-level building overlooking the beach and Café Ora is a 2-level café with an outdoor patio where you can immerse in the nature. I find the cafes around Yeongjong Island fairly expensive, especially Café Ora. The food is pretty average in both cafes, but I guess we’re paying for the view.
